I am a painter, art lover, runner, read-a-holic, and rookie gardener. I graduated from the University of Utah in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Communication and spent seven years working at credit unions as a teller, loan officer, marketing event coordinator and marketing specialist. In the summer of 2014, I began my employment at Trader Joe’s and it has changed my life for the better. I am now surrounded by positivity and have felt inspired to pursue my true passion… art!
I grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah and lived there until September of 2012 when I moved to San Diego, California. Living in San Diego has been a great experience and has helped shape who I am as a person and as an artist.
I began my art career when I was in elementary school with watercolor lessons from a kind, patient, grey-haired lady that lived in my parents’ neighborhood. I had no idea if I was artistic but decided to start because it looked like fun! As an 11-year old I was unaware that sitting in that basement, mixing colors and listening to Enya was the beginning of my journey along the path of an art lover. After many years of watercolor I began experimenting with acrylic and I’ve loved it ever since.
I furthered my art education in high school and college by taking courses in yearbook, photography, drawing, painting, digital imaging, 3-D design, communication design and several art history courses. One of the best decisions of my life was to apply for an art history study abroad program in Italy. Words cannot describe the beauty of seeing first-hand the works of Michelangelo, Bernini, Caravaggio and so many others that I thought I’d only know from books and photographs.
I am excited to share my work with you and hope you enjoy what you see.
Thank you for visiting!
